The Goodnight Loving Vodka Garden and Tasting Room is located in Dripping Springs just off of Fitzhugh Road and opened to the public about a month ago. My gal pal, Chica About Town and I had a fantabulous time! The weather was perfect, cocktails were flowing and we made many new friends - including the precious mini goats on-site for the kiddos.

Made of 2 parts craft and 1 part nostalgia, this six times distilled local vodka is great for mixing into my go-to vodka tonics. In late February, the Vodka Garden and Tasting Room previewed to media, friends, family and Influencers with an afternoon of fabulous weather, vintage decor and that wonderful vodka juice. They started distribution in select liquor stores and bars around town. Sadly, I was out of town and unable to attend. Goodnight Loving Vodka actually launched late fall 2018 at the historic Austin Motel. And I can honestly say, it has been a blast being in this industry with him. Little did I know, when he announced he was leaving the builder, that we’d cross paths again. One of the construction guys I worked with was Gary Crowell, who came to be co-founder of Deep Eddy Vodka, part of Nine Banded Whiskey and now, I'm happy to announce, Goodnight Loving Vodka - along with partner Tim Osbourn. Way back in the 90’s, I worked for a large homebuilder in their marketing department. *Please check current covid hours of operation Which are currently in your home bar? Which would you like to add? 5 times distilled, made in France from non-GMO French whole wheat, it's Magnifique! The original vodka comes in a black matte finish bottle and is equally refreshing. This was one of 2 bottles gifted to me for review and let me tell you, this vanilla & coconut flavored vodka is so good with a splash of coconut water or pineapple juice. Another one out of France, distilled 5 times. This one is little harsher than the others, but still makes for a nice vodka for mixing into your cocktails. (YES, vodka has a taste-don't get me started). I was attracted to this bottle label, but was quickly a fan for the taste. Very crisp and clean and is hosted in a unique, fun beaker-like bottle, this Virus is one I don't mind having. I'm down to my last bottle which is signed by the owner so am hesitant to open it. I've featured this vodka before and is one I really enjoy. Distilled in the Ukraine, it's made from 10% Rye and Barley/90% winter grains, this vodka has that nice spice that I love in a vodka. Discovered this vodka at a trade show and for it being a corn vodka, it is pretty darn smooth.

What makes this vodka unique is that it's made with high alkaline water making for a healthier product. I learned of this product from a recent virtual cocktail conference and was able to interview the owner (more to come on that). Product from Russia and made from premium white wheat malt. Ok, this one is such an usual one in all aspects from the bottle design shaped to look like a mammoth's tusk to the sweet peppery finish. One of my vodka tonic go-to's and favorite places to visit and it really does make for a Good Night. Made from corn and Texas Artesian spring water. They have a fabulous little distillery open to the public* complete with tasting room and vodka garden. I'm a little partial to this one as it's made here in the Austin Area. One taste and it will soon become a staple in your home bar. My favorite Chopin variation is their Rye vodka. We know Poland puts out some amazing vodkas and this one is no exception. A little on the higher price point, but well worth it and comes boxed for gift giving. Made with toasted soft-winter wheat extract, it feels a bit elegant. If you're a Grey Goose fan, you'll love this selection.
DOES DEEP EDDY VODKA GO BAD PLUS
Plus look at that bottle shape - it's cool! Made in Kentucky and certified USDA Organic. I will admit, I've only had this one once and liked it enough to buy a bottle for myself. Seven times distilled makes this a great one for your favorite cocktails. Their 'luxury" product (still under 20 bucks) - Flawless - is distilled 15 times and one of my personal faves for sipping on the rocks. Super smooth with a hint of pepper finish. It's from the Ukraine and distilled 9 times. I discovered this vodka in 2014 and have been in love with it ever since. Here's some in my personal inventory (in no particular order):

I personally love the frosted bottles and how they look in my liBARy. Grey Goose and Belvedere have been doing this from day one and partly because of their success, it's no wonder other brands have taken to similar strategies. One way to do this is by using a unique bottle design or element - like a frosted bottle. With so many vodkas on the shelves these days, in addition to taste brands have taken to bottle and label design to stand out amongst the crowd.
